Corporate Identity

In creating the Centre's logo, the organization drew upon images
representing the related but distinct worlds of science and technology.
A cross-section of a DNA double helix, considered to be a basic
building block of life, is represented on the right, below. (A more
common view of the DNA molecule is represented on the left, below.)
The view of the helix on the right has been modified to create our
logo. Symbolizing the Centre's specialty, the arms of the double helix
have been modified to depict fish. Attached to the DNA structure is a
stylized fishing net, which calls to mind our efforts in building a
fishery that is both sustainable and successful. This marriage of the
biological sciences and marine technologies in the service of the
fishery is a graphic representation of our mission.
